Easy Homemade Seasoned Salt Recipe

One of the most versatile, useful, and delicious seasoning blends I make in my kitchen is simple, homemade seasoned salt. If you don’t already make your own, let me show you how easy it is to make it! Use it on things like eggs, potatoes, grilled meats, soups, stews, and more!

Total Time 2 minutes

Equipment

  • Coffee bean grinder or spice grinder (or food processor)
  • small bowl(s)
  • spice jar or shaker bottle
  • measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup fine sea salt (if you are on a salt restrictive diet, cut to ⅛ cup of salt)
  • 1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder

Instructions

  • In your coffee or spice grinder, add a quarter cup of salt and one tablespoon of black pepper. Then add one tablespoon of onion powder, one tablespoon of garlic powder, and one tablespoon of paprika.
  • Put the lid on your spice grinder, and grind all the spices together until they are fine and combined.
  • Open the lid of your spice grinder over a small bowl so that you can catch the delicious seasoning blend. Also, make sure you clean your grinder well afterward, so that your coffee (if you’re using the same grinder for coffee beans) doesn’t taste salty or off-flavored.
  • Put your homemade seasoned salt mixture into a separate bowl, jar with a tight fitting lid, or other airtight container. Store it close to your stove so that you can reach for it the next time you want to add some zing to your cooking.
