Moist Chocolate Banana Bread Recipe

This chocolate banana bread recipe is moist, delicious, and irresistible. If you want a fun twist on classic banana bread or banana nut bread, simply add the chocolate chips and applesauce as indicated in the recipe! Easily swap out ingredients to suit your taste. Freshly milled flour can be swapped with all purpose flour or you can use a mixture.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • cup applesauce (or apple butter)
  • cup avocado oil (plus a bit more to grease your loaf pan)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups flour (any type)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350℉ and grease a loaf pan with avocado oil.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripened bananas until they are lumpy. Then add both of the sugars and mix together well.
  • Add the applesauce, avocado oil, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until it is thoroughly mixed.
  • Then add the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
  • Mix in the chocolate chips. Pour your batter into a greased loaf pan and bake your chocolate banana bread in the oven for 55-60 minutes until it's golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
